TEACHER & DIRECTOR —

For over 15 years, Miguel has taught and directed at several acting schools and companies in Miami and New York. He has now made the move to Los Angeles, where he has joined the staff of Zak Barnett Studios, a prestigious acting studio for working actors in television and film. In the short amount of time he has worked there, his coachings have already proven to be successful, with several actors he’s coached resulting in major bookings for television and film projects.

Miguel educates and inspires his clients with passion, intensity, and curiosity. Specializing in different genres of television/film, he ensures that the performance of the actor is grounded in the specific needs of the material.

He got his start in teaching as the resident guest acting instructor at the South Miami K8 Drama Magnet program for over 10 years, where he taught, directed, and volunteered for the program and worked alongside the iconic Ana Montoya.

Miguel was also a resident director at the award-winning organization, the Miami Children’s Theater for ten years. He directed musicals such as “13 the musical”, ““Annie”, “Seussical the Musical, “The Descendants”, “Elf”, “Honk”, “Moana”, “A Little Princess” and more.

He also taught and directed at Frenchwoods Festival of the Performing Arts, working with young artists from the ages of 6 to 18. He directed plays and musicals such as “Steel Magnolias”, “Free to Be You and Me”, “We are Monsters”, “Curious George”, “Pirates Past Noon”, and more. His classes included “On Camera Acting”, “Acting the Song”, “Improvisation”, and a new class he created, “Super Serious Comedy”, that taught young actors the different genres of comedy and how to find authenticity and truth, even in the silliest of circumstances.

As a professional acting coach, Miguel’s acting clients have gone on to book roles on Broadway, TV, Film. His clients have also received admission into top acting schools around the country, from magnet programs to theater universities and conservatories.
